HDMI B Type

Feb 26, 2021

Applied to HDMI1.0 version, the specification is 4.45mm×21.2mm, there are a total of 29pins, which can transmit twice the amount of TMDS data of HDMI A type, point to point in DVI Dual-Link transmission, used to transmit high resolution (WQXGA 2560× Above 1600).

Because HDMI A type only has Single-Link TMDS transmission, if you want to transmit HDMI B type signals, you must have twice the transmission efficiency, which will cause the working frequency of TMDS Tx and Rx to be increased to 270MHz or more.

Before the appearance of HDMI 1.3 IC, most of the TMDS Tx and Rx on the market could only work stably below 165MHz. Such interfaces are not used in any products.
