HDMI length limitation issue

Jan 15, 2021

HDMI cable length limitation is one of its main problems. According to some consumer self-tests, the standard 28AWG (American Wire Gauge) HDMI copper wire begins to attenuate after approximately 5 meters. This length is usually insufficient for the connection between the projector and the computer.

However, the HDMI organization does not recognize this restriction. The HDMI FAQ page of its webpage FAQs states: "We have seen a cable that passes through an HDMI "standard cable" of no less than ten meters without an "adapter". Commitment test".

Existing HDMI-certified 10M cables (without HDMI equalizer IC) are mostly made with 24AWG wires.
